The House Hunting Fiasco

House hunting, I thought it would be an enjoyable experience. How wrong I was. The first step to find the perfect house (which of course we were never going to find) was of course to find Jack and Emma! You would have thought that this would be quite an easy and stress free process, but nooo they were nowhere to be found. I rang their phones looked on msn, went round to Jacks, noone was there. I wasn't sure which room was Emma's so I took Claire with me and she helped me find it. They took ages to answer the door! Anyway, I finally found them and we went through the house database. It took hours, but by 9pm we had 6 houses lined up to visit the next day.
So we set off on Wednesday afternoon at 13.30 to visit the houses. We just made it in time to the first house where we were turned away because they only wanted to rent houses to single sex groups! How silly is that! Anyway, we therefore made our way to the next house on our list. We were standing in front f the door debating who was going to ring the doorbell when I got a call. It was he landlord telling us that the house had just been rented and so was no longer available. At this point we thought it was quite amusing that we hadn't seen any houses. We walked to the next house but had lots of time to spare, so we went to get a drink in the local pub. I stuck to lemonade! Anyway, we went to house no 3 and were told at the door by another group of students that the house had gone. We therefore returned to the pub because we had 1h30 to kill. This was the most enjoyable part of the day, we had another drink and played pool. Emma however then got a phone call telling her that house no5 had been rented. We made our way to house no4 and visited it. The first house of the day! The house was nice but the small bedroom wasn't, it had an en suite in it, well a toilet and sink and the bed in there was tiny! There was no oven in the kitchen either which was a little strange. (The landlady was French though! but I didn't tell her I was too) We proceeded to house no6, the last house of the day. It was really nice, the only problem being location. It is a little far from uni, and although there is a direct bus into university in the morning, in the evening you have to take 2 buses to get back.
Well we slept on it, and decided that house no6 was the house for us! Now we just have to hand over a couple of thousand pounds worth of post dated checks and all will be done. Arghhh!
Wish me luck!

Valentines Day

Well having read everyone else's posts about valentines day I thought that I should write an account of mine. Well I thought it was a lovely day, but then that is partly due to the fact of my having receiving 2 cards!
I got up at 8am in order to catch the 10.30 train back to Bath. Unfortunately, or fortunately, there were no people giving out free chocolate soya milk this time (disgusting stuff! I don't know how Sarah browncross drinks it!). So onto the train I struggled with my bag in one hand, laptop in the other and rucksack on my back (ok so I only came home for a week, but there was washing to be done! It is quite scary, I am turning into one of those students who bring their washing home, although I have done it a couple of times up here in Bath.). It was a very good trip, and by 12.01 I was in Bath. 30 minutes later I was standing outside my door and there were 2 valentines cards sellotaped to the door! They were only printed from the computer but they were still both very sweet. (from Tom and Duncan)
I met up for lunch with my friend Claire, and we both went to choices (like school food but slightly better, it means that you don't have to do any cooking and washing up which is great when you are feeling lazy!). I then proceeded to unpack, and later on Tom and Duncan came to visit. Of course I said thank you to both of them.
In the evening Tom and I were going to go to caddies (local nightclub) but it was very full, so we went to The Playground instead (also night club but that plays rock music. (I felt slightly out of place in my pink 3/4 length jacket thing as everyone seemed to be in black!). But anyway, Tom was really sweet and bought me all my drinks (I didn't drink that much though, only 3 smirnoff ices, although they did make me feel slightly tipsy! Let's just say that nearer the midnight mark I was able to dance, well I say dance I mean shake my hair around. Everyone was doing it ok!). And to make a lovely day even nicer, Tom asked me out at the end of it, and I said yes.

Exams, exams, exams

Exams are over!!!!! Yippee :-)
And now I get a week of holidays, so am going home. No cooking or washing for a week! Brilliant! I don't have much more to say really, except that will try to blog a little more over the next week, when will have lots of free time on my hands.
